Welcome

The Peterborough Scheme took its first Trainees in 1974 and is one of the oldest programmes in the country.

It is based at Peterborough City Hospital with General Practice involvement from a number of practices both within Peterborough and the surrounding area.

The City Hospital was finished in mid 2010 and the move from the old District and Edith Cavell hospitals was complete by December 2010.

The GP training offices are located on the 4th floor of A core in the Learning Centre along with the Hospital Library.

In the last few years the structure of the training course has changed with the introduction of innovative posts to compliment the traditional hospital jobs. There is now a single intake of 13 Trainees each in August.
